It is a common saying that our dirty laundry, we should only wash at home, meaning our private affairs should not be aired in public. In a metaphorical way this exhibition in the space of the 4th Wall exposes an eclectic collection of creations where each artist chose his own work and thus exposes his inner private “home” of his soul to the public.
The fact that we show this kind of art in a space that has an open wall to the public exposes the “private” to this “public”.
I am taking my inspiration from Garcia Lorca’s “Blood Wedding” where the women sit and wash their laundry while gossiping about all their private businesses to everyone.
So we, a group of artists from Berlin and from Israel agree to expose part of our world to the people in the street.
This exhibition is the continuation of the idea of the 4th wall project with Doron Polak as the curator and Norma Drimmer the artist where in every project Norma Drimmer welcomes other artists to enter a dialogue with her own art works.
